This instance involves the price of Dairy Queen’s blizzard range, as was made by a customer called Ernest on May 31.
on the social media platform X said: “@DairyQueenlower your blizzard prices holy fricken c**p.”
This led to Dairy Queen responding to the complaint, revealing how the price rises are actually decided.
The company replied: “We’re sorry we’ve disappointed you, Ernest.
“The independent franchise operators of each restaurant ultimately determine the pricing of Dairy Queen products.”
Dairy Queen then left a link to its FAQ page in its reply.Ernest did have one more jab to throw Dairy Queen’s way, however.
He replied in the thread: “$5.50 for a mini cmon.”
It is impossible to know exactly what Dairy Queen Ernest is referring to, so it is unknown what that franchise’s reason was for the price rise.
RETAILER PRICE RISES
Dairy Queen is not the only company that has seen price rises, even if in this case, it is decided by separate franchises.
As far as retailers like Target and Walmart go, it is not as clear how price rises are officially decided.
Either way, customers have reported complaints as products have risen.
Where it is suspected that Donald Trump‘s tariffs have something to do there, it is not known if this is the case for Dairy Queen.

A couple of weeks later, The US Sun revealed that toys at Walmart are now being hit by massive price rises.
This incident saw a T-Rex toy go from $20 to $55 from April 19 to May 21, which is a markup of 175% in the span of just over a month.
In the comment section of that Reddit post, shoppers were quick to express their concern.
One person wrote: “This is actually pretty terrifying. I don’t care about toys of course but jfc I can’t imagine what the price of food and necessities are going to be like soon, especially with most of us only making $14 and already struggling like hell.”
Meanwhile, another added: “What scares me is that Walmart is truly paying more for the products- I am watching our costs rise and products going up to cover us while its kicking everyone’s a**…consumers & companies.
“This will kill all businesses, big and small.”
While the price rises at Target and Walmart might be decided differently to Dairy Queen, the effects being felt from customers are often resulting in the same poor reactions.
