Kevin O’Sullivan has issued an apology for his profanity-laced outburst directed towards NCAA and Coastal Carolina officials before the start of the Gators’ 11-4 loss to East Carolina.
Sullivan was… displeased with the decision to move the Gators’ game back an hour, which was necessitated by East Carolina and Coastal Carolina’s late ending to their game on Saturday night. He proceeded to lay into officials on site for the decision, which was caught on video and subsequently went viral Sunday afternoon. Initially, O’Sullivan refused to comment on the video and his actions.
That changed on Monday. Florida baseball’s social media accounts released the following statements from Gators Athletic Director Scott Stricklin and O’Sullivan, both apologizing for O’Sullivan’s action on Sunday morning.
As you can read below, Stricklin insisted that O’Sullivan “fell well short of expectations of how Gators treat people” with his outburst. O’Sullivan admitted that his actions were inappropriate and specifically mentioned site representatives Rick French and Mark Scalf.
