Joseph Parker has incredibly called for a third meeting with Derek Chisora.
The New Zealander is the current WBO interim champion and is awaiting his shot at the winner of Oleksandr Usyk’s rematch with Daniel Dubois which take places on July 19.
Parker wants to fight on the Usyk vs Dubois 2 billAll eyes in the heavyweight division will be on Wembley Stadium in the summer, with huge ramifications to come for many of the world level operators.
Parker has already been busy in 2025, in February he brutally knocked out Martin Bakole, who stepped in at short notice to replace the ill Dubois.
His own return was being plotted in September by Frank Warren to ensure he remains active as he patiently waits for his chance at world glory.
And the 33-year-old believes a third fight with Chisora would be the perfect solution to keep busy.
He told The Ring: “I’d like to be out ASAP.
“I know Usyk and Dubois are fighting on July 19, I’d like to either fight not long after that, or it’d be great if I could be on the same card.
“That’s been floated by Queensberry, so it’d be nice. Who do I fight? I’m not sure. The belts are held up at the moment.
“Usyk and Dubois have the belts, and whoever wins, who knows what kind of rematch clauses are in the contract.
“It’d be nice to fight anyone. It’d be nice to fight someone like Derek Chisora. He is looking for his 50th fight, and I’m not sure if he’s going to fight for a title.
“I know I’ve beaten him twice, but I’ve never had a trilogy in my career, so Derek always brings it, and it could be a good sort of fight to keep me busy.”
And Parker believes a third bout with Chisora makes senseMark Robinson/MatchroomChisora and Parker met in two famous battles in 2021.
The latter got the better of the Briton on both occasions, even dropping him three times in their sequel.
‘WAR’ himself is now well ranked having gone on one of the best winning streaks of his career.
He recently beat Otto Wallin in an IBF world title eliminator, and is now mandatory for a shot at the belts himself.
Parker is in a fantastic position near the top of the heavyweight rankings, and his mandatory shot is first ahead of Chisora’s IBF attempt in the rotation.
His run of form recently sees him considered as one of the elite operators right now, with wins over Deontay Wilder and Zhilei Zhang to his name.
Chisora is too in great form and is waiting for a world title shot tooGettyDespite interest in a clash with Chisora, Parker has also named a second meeting with Dillian Whyte as an alternative option, having been beaten by ‘The Body Snatcher’ in an epic contest in July 2018.
He continued: “There’s also Dillian Whyte. Fabio Wardley is fighting Justis Huni this weekend, or very soon.
“There’s many options out there. I know [Martin] Bakole wants a rematch, too.
“But I think it would be awesome to fight on the undercard of Usyk and Dubois. I’ll fight anyone.
“Like I said, if there’s no one else to fight, Derek Chisora is always keen. He’s always up for it but he’s also got a great following, and he’s looking for his 50th fight.”
