First and foremost, if you are a potential suitor, please stop reading this story now. OK, now, what's the age-old adage: it takes half the time you dated someone to get over them? Well, I'd like to speak with whoever came up with that, because from where I'm standing, it isn't f*cking true. I dated my most recent ex off and on for two years, so we probably dated for a total of one full year. We're coming up on six months of no contact, and guess what? I'm still thinking about them and crying over them. The math ain't math-in.
Although I'm not crying over them every waking moment, it happens more often than I'd like, which leaves me with a couple of issues. A puffy face and red, swollen undereyes. A girl doesn't have an unlimited number of hours in the day to dunk her face in an ice bath, so instead, I've had to learn to rely on a few key products that can help me look presentable at a moment's notice. My current favorite? The Belif Aqua Bomb Depuffing Eye Gel ($32).
While it hasn't been able to heal my broken heart, it has made my face look a lot better. Keep scrolling to read my full review.
About the Belif Aqua Bomb Eye Gel
This product is a lightweight depuffing eye gel. The key ingredients include caffeine for puffiness, hyaluronic acid for hydration, niacinamide and vitamin C to brighten, and adenosine and collagen to plump skin. It's formulated for all skin types. It features a cooling tip. It's paraben, phthalate, mineral oil, and sulfate-free.What I Like About the Belif Aqua Bomb Eye Gel
This product just feels nice to put on, especially after a long crying session. I love the cooling effect of the gel, specifically because of the built-in chilled tip. I'm also a big fan of the packaging. I despise any undereye cream housed in a tub that requires me to dig my fingers into it - the applicator pump makes it easy to use, even if I'm on the go.
Plus, the consistency isn't sticky, but it is a tiny bit tacky, which makes it great for wearing under makeup. (Makeup that is most certainly necessary after I find myself wailing to a sad Spotify playlist a mere two hours before I need to meet my girlfriends for dinner.)
I haven't been using it long enough to notice a difference in my dark circles (which I got from, yes, you guessed it, staying up late and thinking about my ex), but I have noticed that it immediately brightens my undereye area in a noticeable way.
How to Use the Belif Aqua Bomb Eye Gel
The brand recommends using this product in the morning and at night. Start out by pushing down the applicator pump until it releases a small drop of product. From there, use the ceramic cooling tip to apply the product under the eye. Then, use the pad of your finger to gently tap the product into the skin.
I know this product is meant to be used twice a day, in the morning and at night, but I won't lie - I use it a lot more than that. I actually like to keep it in the refrigerator so the gel feels even colder. It feels so relaxing and calming, I find myself reaching for it almost as much as I reach for my chapstick.
What to Consider Before Trying the Belif Aqua Bomb Eye Gel
One thing to note about this eye gel is that a little product goes a long way. When I first started using it, I made the mistake of pressing down on the applicator pump one too many times, and I was left with too much product. The gel consistency makes it easy to spread underneath the eye (and even over the top of the eyelid), so now I typically do one teensy little pump for each eye.
Where the Belif Aqua Bomb Eye Gel Is Available
The Belif Aqua Bomb Eye Gel is available directly on the brand's website, as well as Sephora.
