MILLIONS are set to miss out on the maximum $967 Social Security payment this month because of a calendar quirk.
It follows the unique month of May, which saw checks go out sooner than normal.

The US Sun reported on the double dose that Supplemental Security Income (SSI) recipients received, given how the days of the month fell.
SSI is not the same as regular Social Security checks, instead it is additional income to help older adults or those with disabilities who have little to no income.
In general, adults who qualify for SSI do not have monthly wages above $2,019.
While Social Security checks are sent out in bursts over the month, SSI is given out only once per month, but in May recipients received two SSI payments.
This is because the first day of May fell on a weekend, so the Social Security Administration issued the SSI on the last business day of April.
So, to ensure people weren’t waiting too long for SSI, the June payment was actually given out on Friday May 30.
The Social Security Administration wrote in a 2022 blog: “When the first day of the month falls on the weekend or a Federal holiday, you receive your SSI payment on the last business day before the first day of the month.
“That means you may get two SSI payments in the same month.
“We do this to avoid putting you at a financial disadvantage and make sure that you don’t have to wait beyond the first of the month to get your payment.
“It does not mean that you are receiving a duplicate payment in the previous month, so you do not need to contact us to report the second payment.”
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR YOU?
This means that SSI beneficiaries will miss out on a June check, and will not get their next one until July 1.
So, while they have technically already been paid for June as they received their June check in late May, it will have an impact.
Namely, it will mean recipients need to make that money stretch further than they usually would.
SSI payment schedule for 2025
Friday, May 30, 2025 (Check for June 2025) Tuesday, July 1, 2025 (Check for July 2025) Friday, Aug. 1, 2025 (Check for August 2025) Friday, Aug. 29, 2025 (Check for September 2025) Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2025 (Check for October 2025) Friday, Oct. 31, 2025 (Check for November 2025) Monday, Dec. 1, 2025 (Check for December 2025) Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2025 (Check for January 2026)This is not the only time this is set to happen this year, as September will also see no SSI checks being given out, as well as November.
It might not sound like a drastic change, but the regularity of payments can be helpful to create an income schedule.
Social Security payments are a lot of more regular, and are set to be given out in three bursts like usual throughout June.
As always, your birthdate will make all the difference.
For those born between the first and the tenth of the month, they will get their Social Security check on Wednesday, June 11.
Birth dates between the eleventh and the twentieth will get the check on Wednesday, June 18.
And finally, those born between the 21st and the 31st of the month will get their checks on the last Wednesday of the month, June 25.
