The leak exposed private information including Social Security numbers and bank details.

FloridaCentral Credit Union agreed to settle a lawsuit after hackers allegedly got access to sensitive customer data through the company’s email system on May 16 2024.

The credit union hasn’t admitted any wrongdoing but has agreed to cough up cash to resolve the claims.

FloridaCentral Credit Union is a financial institution in Florida with over 200,000 members.

Under the deal, anyone affected can claim a flat payout.

These are estimated to be worth $100.

But those with more notable losses can apply for up to $5,000.

Claimants for the larger payment need to have suffered documented losses, like identity theft, fraudulent charges or credit monitoring bills.

FloridaCentral is also offering three years of free credit monitoring to all eligible customers.

This also includes dark web scans, one-bureau monitoring, up to $1million in ID theft insurance, and full identity recovery support.

To get the money, eligible customers need to submit a claim by June 2, 2025.

The deadline to opt out or object was May 16.

And the final court hearing has been set for June 16, 2025.

It comes as Americans can scoop up a one-off payment from a huge million-dollar settlement.

Claimants don’t even need to provide any evidence to receive the cash which is being dished out by The Cowboy Channel to resolve claims that it wrongly shared the personal information of its subscribers.

The suit alleges that the channel violated the Video Privacy Protection Act by sharing the details with third parties.

Americans who are Mazda owners could also get free money and a warranty extension if they are eligible and act fast – but they will need the right paperwork to claim it.

Drivers affected by a faulty infotainment system are eligible for as much as $1,750 in reimbursements plus a 24-month limited warranty.

The offer is part of a class action settlement tied to glitchy Mazda Connect systems that allegedly cause screens to freeze, reboot or crash mid-drive.
