The discount retailer is planning to open 225 new store locations in the US in 2025, marking the most they have ever opened in a single year.
Aldi is making serious moves right now, having just finished up converting all of the Winn-Dixie and Harvey’s locations the company bought last year.
About 220 Winn-Dixie and Harveys Supermarket stores will be converted to the smaller, simpler Aldi format by 2027.
The 18 stores across Florida are set to open very soon, and will come to major places like Fort Lauderdale.
In fact, one in Ocala is opening on Thursday, June 5.
The first 100 customers will get gift bags with some fan-favorite products and a gift card,.
There will also be a chance to win a $500 gift card through the weekend.
Matt Thon, Aldi regional vice president, said: “At our new Ocala ALDI store, shoppers will find that every decision we make, from our product selection to store layout, is to provide our customers with the best products at the lowest possible prices of any national grocer.
“Our customers can save up to 36% on an average household’s shopping list.”

FAN SUPPORT
As Aldi continues to expand, fans are still showing support for the discount chain, with some claiming it to be better than one of its biggest rivals, Trader Joe’s.
On Facebook, one person wrote: Unpopular opinion, Aldi is better than Trader Joe’s! Ok, Bye!”
And this was backed up in the comments.
One person replied: “They both refuse to handle food with care BUT Trader Joe’s is unnecessarily fast paced and crowded.
“The produce are not better, equivalent at best, and the flower section takes up half the store.”
Meanwhile, another wrote: “I been to Trader Joe’s and I don’t understand their aisles much. They got ALDIs with the flower selections though!”
