Live blog: Colorado officials address Homeland Security's 'sanctuary jurisdiction' list ...Middle East

DENVER (KDVR) — After the U.S. Department of Homeland Security released a list accusing more than 500 jurisdictions across the country of not complying with federal immigration laws, several Colorado officials are speaking out.

On Thursday, the department released a sanctuary jurisdiction list, which claims that certain cities, counties and states, including several in Colorado, are sanctuary jurisdictions that are obstructing the enforcement of federal immigration laws.

The department said it used factors like compliance with federal law enforcement, information restrictions and legal protections for illegal aliens to determine the list, which documented 14 cities and over 40 counties in Colorado.
