Formula One rookie Isack Hadjar had an angry altercation with a fan moments before a live interview during the Monaco Grand Prix.
Hadjar went on to claim sixth place in Monte Carlo, as McLaren’s Lando Norris stormed to victory.
Hadjar is 19th driver to earn promotion to F1 through Red Bull’s junior programmeGettyAfter leaving the media pen following qualifying, the Racing Bulls driver made his way over to the Sky F1 television crew made up of Simon Lazenby, Jenson Button and Naomi Schiff for a live interview.
However, the 20 year-old is seen being sidetracked by a heated discussion with a bystander before he arrives on set.
After the incident, Hadjar appears on screen with the Sky F1 team and seemed to be angrily staring off into the distance as the interview starts.
The conflict is said to have been caused by a misunderstanding between the young driver and the fan.
The sixth place finish is the Frenchmen’s best for the F1 2025 season so far.
He placed behind winner Norris and fellow McLaren driver Oliver Piastri as well as Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton and Red Bull’s Max Verstappen.
Hadjar praised Racing Bull’s strategy as ‘perfectly executed’ as he finished inside the points alongside team mate Liam Lawson.
“Was a perfect weekend for me,” said the 20-year-old.
“Honestly yesterday I had a lot of fun, a lot more fun than today, but still the race was perfectly executed.
“Liam helped me massively, it was great team work and also he helped me, but he also got points so I’m really happy for him.”
He continued: “Honestly, I’m really proud because after Friday confidence was quite low, FP3 was really tough.”
Hadjar earned praised from his idol Hamilton following the raceGetty“Didn’t have much confidence in the car and still somehow we managed to turn around really quickly and that was a great team effort so I’m really proud of my guys.”
Hadjar made a disastrous F1 debut at the Australian Grand Prix, where he crashed on the formation lap.
The Formula 2 runner-up spun out in Melbourne and kept his helmet on walking back to the garage in an attempt to conceal his emotions.
After repeatedly putting his hand into his visor onto his eyes, Hadjar was stopped and consoled by Lewis Hamilton’s father Anthony.
However, others were less forgiving with Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko criticising the young driver as ’embarrassing’.
The 20-year-old picked up the vacant seat at Racing Bulls after Red Bull replaced Sergios Perez with Liam Lawson in a dramatic winter reshuffle.
Lawson was then brutally dropped by Red Bull and replaced by Yuki Tsunoda after just two races.
Lawson placed eight in Monte Carlo ahead of Tsunoda at 17th.
Earlier in the year, Hadjar defended himself over several furious radio outburst he made during his Formula 2 campaign.
“Certain drivers say ‘when I put the visor down, I’m a different person, different animal’,” said Frenchman during an F1TV documentary.
“I think a lot. I’m aware of the danger. I wouldn’t say I am different to the guy on the outside.
“Maybe I am less aggressive than what people think.
