Shoppers have mere hours left until the iconic fabrics retailer is gone for good, but there are key things to watch out for when buying.

There are literally only a matter of hours remaining until all trading ceases at Joann.
That date is scheduled for Friday May 30, giving you very little time left to get up to 90% off on various items.
Joann is even trying to sell the equipment in the stores, from cabinets to cutting tables.
A Facebook post confirmed the closing date, and mourned the closing Joann stores, along with a deep regret at everyone who would be losing jobs.
The caption of the post says: “This is it sadly….. JOANN Fabric and Craft Stores are closing remaining locations by May 30th for good which is very unfortunate for many people who are losing their jobs.”
It quotes a Facebook post from Joann, which is captioned: “Everything is at least 70%-90% off before we close forever!
“Fabric, yarn, sewing supplies, crafts, Cricut machines, thread & much more! LAST CHANCE!”
You can find items with massive savings, like in jewellery, paper crafting supplies and fine art supplies, per the website.
SCAM ALERT
However, the final days of this once booming business have been tainted by scammers trying to make a quick buck.
The US Sun revealed back in March that shoppers were being told to look out for fake websites pretending to be Joann.
This is because the retailer has stopped operating online as it prepares to end trading, and you can only sale shop in-store.
This has been confirmed in a social media post.
Shoppers are therefore being told to ignore any website that is pretending to be Joann- it is not them.
Nevertheless, customers have nearly been caught out in the fraudsters’ plans.
One person wrote: “Thanks for the warning – I almost fell for one.
“The prices seemed too good to be true until I checked the e-mail and noped out of there.”
BRANDS HARD HIT BY BANKRUPTCIES
Many chains have struggled to adapt to a post-Covid retail landscape, with several companies filing for bankruptcy
JoAnn Fabrics and Crafts announced it would close all 800 stores after filing for bankruptcy twice in a year.
Hooters announced plans to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in February.
Liberated Brands announced that it would be closing all 122 retail locations for its boardsport fashion brands Quiksilver, Billabong, and Volcom.
Forever 21 shut down its headquarters after filing for bankruptcy and laying off 358 employees.
Macy’s announced major restructuring plans amid mass store closures.
Another person shared: “They almost got me. I shopped for 2 hours and had my credit card out to pay then it just hit me! I’m so thankful.”
Joann found itself in an impossible position after it was forced to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy for a second time in the space of a year.
Changing consumer habits and rising costs have simply brought Joann to its knees.
Shoppers only have until Friday to get these amazing savings, in-store only it is important to remember.
Scammers might be trying to exploit these final days, but Joann loyalists will be too busy mourning the 80 year old titan of its day.
