"Jitesh Sharma was OUT"- ICC International Panel Umpire steps in on Digvesh Rathi's run-out attempt ...Middle East

News by : (cricketaddictor) -

On the first ball of the 17th over in RCB’s innings, Digvesh Rathi had dismissed Jitesh Sharma, but the delivery was a backfoot no-ball. Jitesh smashed a six off the free hit. With 29 runs still needed from 19 balls, the LSG spinner tried to run the RCB stand-in skipper out before delivering the final ball of the over.

The third umpire stated, “The bowler has passed his delivery stride in his popping crease,” before declaring it not out. However, the IPL Playing Conditions do not consider the bowler’s delivery stride as a factor. This raised questions about the correctness of the third umpire’s decision.
