Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) won the 70th match of the IPL 2025 against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by 6 wickets at the Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Tuesday, May 27.

Opting to bowl first, RCB delivered a really poor performance and allowed LSG to score 227 for 3, riding on Rishabh Pant's century. Chasing the target, Jitesh Sharma (85*) played an exceptional knock while Virat Kohli (54) and Mayank Agarwal (41*) chipped in good runs to help RCB win in 18.4 overs.

"I can't express my thoughts, I was thinking about just staying in the present. When Virat got out I thought of taking the game deep and that is what my mentor (Dinesh Karthik) tells me that the kind of calibre I have I can finish the game from any situation."

This is a very big franchise and I am enjoying the pressure - Jitesh Sharma

"This is a very big franchise and I am enjoying the pressure and when I see these players (like Virat, Krunal and Bhuvi) I feel excited that I am getting to play with these players. We will enjoy this moment and whatever momentum we got in this game, we will take it forward (into the next game)."

"Credit goes to Rajat for giving me this responsibility (maintaining the excellent record of winning away from home this season). Hazlewood is fit and the belief system in our team is very strong and whichever players you see, everyone is a match-winner and even if we lose 3-4 wickets, we always had the belief."

RCB were hammered in a previous LSG clash

Electing to bowl first, RCB had a few bright moments, but they allowed LSG to register a challenging total of 181/5 on the board. Glenn Maxwell picked up 2 wickets for 23 runs, and he found support from Yash Dayal, Mohammed Siraj, and Reece Topley, who picked up one wicket each.

With the bat, RCB never looked settled in the middle and they were eventually bundled for 153 runs in 19.4 overs. Openers Virat Kohli (22) and Faf du Plessis (19) took the team off to a decent start, and Rajat Patidar (29), along with Mahipal Lomror (33 off 13), made good contributions. However, LSG pacer Mayank Yadav was too hot to handle for RCB in that game and the Super Giants managed to bag a stunning victory.
