But the 23-year-old is expected to miss at least the next four WNBA games.
The Fever has been given a brutal blow, and head coach Stephanie White opened up about Clark’s status.
White spoke about Clark being honest about her injury to the team and for the staff to help her with the injury so that she isn’t affected “long-term.”
“Sometimes great players don’t tell you when they’re hurting. I’m glad that she did because we need to nip this in the bud,” White said to reporters during practice.
“There’s so many things when you think about Caitlin and her not wanting to miss games.
“Obviously, she’s a competitor and wants to play.
“… But for me, it’s maintaining perspective.
“It’s making sure that we address this in a way that doesn’t affect long-term.
“That we take care of it, don’t over-push, don’t over-exert.
“Making sure that we take the long-game approach to this so that we’re not having lingering issues throughout the court of the season.”
Clark had appeared in the first four games of the season for Indiana, averaging a team-high 19 points and 9.2 assists.
It hasn’t been revealed when she suffered her injury.
The severity of Clark’s injury hasn’t been revealed, as the Fever said in a statement that she would miss a “minimum of two weeks” and added that further updates “will be provided, as available, following re-evaluation.”
The Fever are 2-2 for the campaign and will face the Washington Mystics on Wednesday.
Fans won’t be able to see Clark take on her rival Angel Reese in the second game of the season between the Fever and Sky on June 7.
The Fever blew out the Sky, 93-58, in the season-opener.
Due to Clark’s injury, ticket prices for the second game between the two teams have dropped drastically.
The ticket to this season’s first game between the two squads was priced at around $75.
However, just a day after Clark’s injury was announced, tickets to the June 7 game have gone down to just $35.
