Some athletic clothing items are great for more than just working out, and bike shorts are one of them. Bike shorts are are a cute, comfortable option for moving around—whether that’s running errands or taking a Pilates class. There are a lot of affordable options out there, but this week, Aldi is releasing cute bike shorts that aren’t expensive. Plus they look a lot like Athleta and Free People styles that cost several times more. From May 28 to June 3, Aldi will be selling a Crane Premium Bike Short for just $8.99 in the Aldi Finds aisles of local stores. They look like they have one side pocket for a phone and a thick waistband so they stay up. There are seams on the side, adding some stylish flare as well. (Aldi)These shorts come in three lovely summer colors. There’s a blue style in a pretty cerulean or azure (basically a deep blue-green).

All three colors are solid and have hems on the bottom, so they (hopefully) don’t ride up when you’re sitting down. Elation Ultra High Rise 7" Short, $35.40 (originally $59) at Athleta
(Athleta)There are lots of styles of biker shorts out there that look similar to these Aldi shorts, and Athleta’s Elation Ultra High Rise 7" Short is one of them. It’s currently on sale for $35.40, but was originally $59 and comes in several colors, including Varsity which is close to the blue at Aldi. It’s a lot more vibrant and closer to a true blue, but it’s pretty close. The Athleta bike shorts have a similar thick waistband and seams between the legs. They don’t have a pocket on the side of the leg, but instead at the back of the waistband. These shorts also seem to be longer, with an inseam of 7 inches.
