Managerless Norwich are poised to make a formal approach to make Liam Manning their next manager, talkSPORT understands.
Norwich-born Manning’s stock is high after guiding Bristol City into the Championship play-offs.

But it is understood that Manning would be keen on making the move to Carrow Road.
And Norwich are expected to accelerate their interest to bring him to the club.
Norwich had shortlisted Gary O’Neil and Jurgen Klopp’s former assistant Pep Ljinders as potential candidates.
O’Neil is available after leaving Wolves in December following 16 months in charge at Molineux.
Lijnders is also unattached, with his most recent role as RB Salzburg boss lasting just 28 matches.
But it is believed that O’Neil, who played for the Canaries between 2014-2016, is biding his time for the right job.
Manning, meanwhile, is fresh from overseeing City‘s best league finish in 17 years.
The Robins lost just three of their final 15 matches of the season to finish sixth in the table.
However, they were ultimately beaten 6-0 on aggregate by Sheffield United in the play-offs.

The Canaries are looking to fill their managerial vacancy after sacking Johannes Hoff Thorup last month.
Jack Wilshere was subsequently placed in interim charge for the final two matches of the season.
But despite picking up four points from the games against Middlesbrough and Cardiff, he has departed the club.
Wilshere only moved to Carrow Road in October after leaving his role as Arsenal’s under-18s boss.
Taking to social media to announce his exit, he said: “I’d like to thank everyone at Norwich for the opportunity to continue my coaching journey with you all.

“Thank you to the incredible Canaries fans for welcoming me so warmly from the very first moment I joined.”
Norwich’s sporting director Ben Knapper meanwhile remarked: “Jack made a big impact here in the time he was with us.
“He built great connections with our players and staff, and we’re all sad to see him move on.
“We were all very grateful for him stepping in as our interim head coach for the final two games of the season, but we understand and respect his desire to further explore opportunities elsewhere.
“He leaves with our very best wishes, and we’ll follow his progress closely. I’ve no doubt he’ll go on to have a very successful coaching career in the senior game.”
Wilshere isn’t the only high-profile departure at Norwich, with the club recently confirming the exits of Angus Gunn, Jacob Sorensen and Onel Hernandez when their contracts expire.
For Norwich, they will be looking for a speedy appointment of their next boss ahead of this summer’s pre-season preparations in the Netherlands.
Attention will then turn to their fourth consecutive season in the Championship following relegation in 2022.
During the previous three campaigns, the club have only once achieved a top six finish, losing to Leeds in the play-offs last May.
