AMERICANS could make a few hundred bucks if they’re willing to jump through a few hoops.
That’s because U.S. Bank is offering a sign on bonus of $450 – but only for a limited time.

There are a few key steps to getting the money.
STEPS TO TAKE
To start, you must apply for a U.S. Bank Smartly checking account.
Initially, you must deposit $25 into the account.
You must also enroll in the U.S. Bank mobile app or online banking within 90 days.
The amount you can get depends on how much more you deposit in the account within 90 days of opening it.
Depositing at least $2,000 can get you a $250 bonus. Depositing $5,000 gets you a $350 bonus, and depositing at least $8,000 can get you the maximum $450 bonus.
“Your promotional offer will be automatically applied if you open your account through the promotional offer web page,” the bank said, though if you open an account at a branch or over the phone, the banker will need to apply the offer.

WHO QUALIFIES?
Existing U.S. Bank customers may be out of luck.
Only those who do not have a U.S. Bank consumer checking account already can get the sign-up bonus.
You also cannot have had a consumer checking account with U.S. Bank in the past 12 months.
MORE BANK BONUSES
The U.S. Sun has tracked several ongoing bank sign-up bonuses.
PNC Bank is offering up to $400 as a bonus for those who sign up by June 30.
To qualify for the full payout, you’d need to deposit $5,000 or more.
Those with lots of money can make even more with signing bonuses.
E-Trade, for example, is offering a $10,000 benefit for those opening brokerage accounts.
To get that full benefit, you’d need to deposit at least $5 million.
Teens can get $100 as a sign-on bonus for their accounts at Chase.
You could also get $325 from Citi Bank.
