Alameda County Sheriff’s Office detectives have arrested a 28-year-old Oakland man in connection with a shooting in Castro Valley last month, authorities said Friday.

In the course of the investigation, detectives learned the victim had fired a BB gun at another vehicle, prompting the Oakland man to retrieve a firearm and fire multiple rounds in response.
Detectives served a warrant Thursday at the suspect’s residence, where officials said they recovered an illegal assault rifle, two loaded revolvers, and a small quantity of cocaine.
The man was taken into custody and booked at the Santa Rita Jail on multiple assault charges and possession of a controlled substance while armed. He is scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday.
