Inside This Morning’s desperate bid to slash costs from axing Alison Hammond’s trips to LA to banning outside filming ...Middle East

THIS Morning’s secret cash cuts have been revealed amid ITV Daytime’s strict budget cuts.

It appeared that the fledgling daytime show had come out largely unscathed in ITV’s latest announcement about schedule changes and cuts to its daytime output, however, it has since been claimed that This Morning will be facing a period of change from January 2026.

According to the MailOnline, This Morning is facing a huge cutback on its production budget backstage which will see big, glossy showbiz segments axed, no more abroad trips for its hosts and larger-than-life musical items binned.

The programme has been known for going all-out, including jetting Alison Hammond to LA to interview Hollywood‘s top talent as well as various outside broadcasts but it is now expected that these will all be put to bed in order to bring down costs.

It is understood to be the price This Morning has had to pay after not being subjected to any schedule shake-ups and on-air talent axings like its counterparts, Good Morning Britain, Lorraine and Loose Women.

Insiders have claimed that the show will be scaled-back and that their usual flashy, over-the-top segments will be no more.

Speaking about how This Morning will be affected by the ITV crisis, the insider told the publication: “This Morning may have not been hit by the cuts on the surface, but the show is going to look completely different when this all comes into effect next year.

“The cost of production is on the rise and budgets are going to be significantly reduced when the shows launch in their new schedule slots.

“As well as cuts behind the scenes, there will be big changes on camera, especially on This Morning, big production items like musical theatre performances or outside broadcasts, which is what the show is famous for, will be cut.

“Gone are the days of flying talent like Alison Hammond to Los Angeles to interview Hollywood stars.”

They further added: “The general consensus among staff is that the shows are being put on life support and within time, Lorraine and Loose Women will be the first to be cancelled.”

This Morning is currently headed up by Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard.

Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary host the show on Fridays and it is thought that the four of them are safe from any impending job cuts.

ITV confirmed earlier this week that Loose Women and Lorraine would both face a major overhaul with the shows axing 22 weeks worth of episodes to take them down to a seasonal basis.

It means both shows will air for just 30 weeks a year.

Good Morning Britain will be extended on days when Lorraine is not on-air and will be working closer with the ITV News team under the ITN banner.

GMB and Loose Women are both expected to see on-air talent cut with Lorraine stand-in hosts, Christine Lampard and Ranvir Singh, already revealed to have lost their fill-in positions on the show as a result of the schedule changes.

Adil Ray is expected to be let go from GMB whilst a THIRD of the Loose Women cast could lose their jobs as a result of the changes.
