LEANDER, Texas (KXAN)-- An arrest was made after a Rouse High School student-teacher, Darian Rogers, was accused of having an improper relationship with a student, according to a letter from the Rouse High School principal.
KXAN has reached out to Rogers' attorney. We will update this if a statement is received.
Leander Independent School District was informed that officials received a report of an inappropriate relationship involving the student and student-teacher on April 9.
Darian Rogers (Photo: Williamson County Jail)Rogers was not a LISD or Rouse High School employee, the letter said.
According to the school, Rogers had “briefly completed student-teacher hours on our campus early this spring.”
The incident did not occur at the school, and Rogers was immediately removed from campus once the district was made aware of the situation, the school confirmed.
“...We want to be clear: the alleged misconduct did not occur at the school, during school hours, or at any school-sponsored event,” Rouse High School emphasized in the letter.
The district administration promptly notified both Rogers’ university program and the Texas Education Agency (TEA). The organizations cooperated with law enforcement throughout the investigation.
Following the investigation, the Leander Police Department issued an arrest warrant, and charges were filed against Rogers.
Officials said it addressed the incident because Rouse High School was mentioned in the police report.
“We hold all individuals working with our students to high standards of conduct and accountability,” the letter said.
