As Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray enters his seventh season in the NFL, a debate persists of where he ranks among quarterbacks heading into the season.
Murray’s stats in 2024 point to him having a strong stock going into 2025, while the Cardinals’ collapse in the second half of the season says otherwise.
Pro Football Focus’ John Kosko tiered Murray as a solid starter and ranked him as the 15th-best quarterback entering 2025. Kosko noted health will play a factor into how Murray and the Cardinals will do in 2025.
After multiple injury-plagued seasons, Murray finally stayed healthy in 2024 and delivered an 82.1 overall grade. If he can avoid the injury bug again in 2025, Murray is well-positioned to take another step forward in Year 3 under head coach Jonathan Gannon and offensive coordinator Drew Petzing.
Murray is coming off a 2024 where he played a full season for the first time since 2020.
In 17 games, he threw for 3,851 yards for 21 touchdowns and 11 interceptions with a 66.5 quarterback rating, the ninth best in the NFL. He also rushed for 572 yards with five touchdowns.

Murray and the Cardinals head into 2025 looking to make the playoffs for the first time since 2021. The Cardinals were poised to make the playoffs in 2024 after a 6-4 start.
However, they lost four of their next five games and were eliminated from playoff contention after a Week 16 defeat to the Carolina Panthers.
Murray will also look to continue to build more chemistry with wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. after somewhat of an underwhelming 2024 between the two where Harrison caught 62 passes for 885 yards and eight touchdowns.
