Birmingham, who are co-owned by NFL legend Tom Brady, will return to the second tier of English football after just one season away.

Having spent around £30million on signings last time round, they are set to invest even further this summer for the Championship.

But as per their retained and released list, 15 players won’t be at the club for the 2025/26 campaign.

Defender Grant Hanley will be leaving Birmingham upon the expiration of his contract having signed from Norwich City in January.

The former Premier League centre-back with Blackburn Rovers and Norwich made 17 appearances for the Blues during his short spell.

Also departing is South Korean full-back Lee Myung-Jae, who also signed in January but featured only three times following his move from Ulsan HD in his homeland.

Luke Harris, Kieran Dowell and Ben Davies are heading back to their parent clubs after loan spells at St. Andrew’s.

As well as this, ten Birmingham youngsters will leave this summer.

They are Ben Beresford, Junior Dixon, Taylor Dodd, Laiith Fairnie, Harley Hamilton, Josh Home, Femi Olofinjana, Sahid Kamara, Stoyan Pergelov and Oliver Sayer.

Birmingham have also confirmed that Lukas Jutkiewicz, who made 358 appearances for the club, has retired.

Whilst there are numerous outgoings, the Blues will soon welcome Phil Neumann and Alfons Sampsted as new signings.

talkSPORT also reported earlier in the month that they are keen on re-signing Che Adams.

The striker has spent one season at Torino in Serie A following his five-year stay at Southampton.

Adams previously made 123 appearances for Birmingham, scoring 38 goals before leaving in 2019.

It is understood that the 28-year-old is keen to return to England.

However, there is doubt as to whether or not Adams would drop into the Championship and he would need persuading.
