Phoenix Suns forward Ryan Dunn earned nine points in All-Rookie voting, including one vote for the top team, NBA award polling showed Tuesday.

The 2024 first-round pick received seven second-team votes to land five spots outside the top 10, and the NBA only honors two teams worth of rookies.

He averaged 6.9 points (43% shooting), 3.6 rebounds and 0.6 steals over 74 games (44 starts) after he was the No. 28 overall pick.

Over a stretch of 16 straight starts to end the season, he averaged 11.1 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.4 steals in 26.7 minutes per game.

Phoenix traded back from its original slotting at No. 22 with the confidence he was the guy.

His defense was always going to translate after spending his collegiate career at Virginia under now-former coach Tony Bennett, but his offense was viewed as a long-term project.

To that point, it’s fair to characterize his rookie campaign as a pleasant surprise, especially when considering how his 31 3-point makes over the final 16-game stretch (32.3%) dwarfed the 12 makes he had in two years at Virginia (23.5%).
