Darts fans were treated to an on-stage dance-off between two players at the 2019 UK Open.

The impromptu showdown occurred before the third round clash between Dimitri Van den Bergh and Kirk Shepherd.

Van den Bergh was the first to show off their moves after completing his walk-on.

Having joined Shepherd on stage, the Belgian could be seen dancing in front of the crowd as his music continued to play.

Not to be upstaged, his opponent quickly joined in with an iconic performance of his own.

Shepherd recreated Ricky Gervais’ iconic David Brent dance from The Office by jumping in the air next to Van den Bergh.

The Karate Kid then shook his arms and kicked his legs forward, leaving the commentators speechless.

Both players were in high spirits before the match as their dancing was cheered on by the crowd.

The match finally got underway once Shepherd and Van den Bergh had shaken hands and embraced on stage.

Unfortunately for the former, his moves were the highlight of his match as he was beaten 6-0.

Van den Bergh averaged 101.33 on his way to white-washing Shepherd and reaching the fourth round.

The Dreammaker would go on to make it all the way to the sixth round back in 2019.

However, he was ultimately denied a place in the last eight by Steve Beaton in Minehead.

Van den Bergh would finally get his hands on the trophy five years later, though.

His 2024 triumph was the second PDC Major win of his career, having also lifted the World Matchplay in 2020.

As for Shepherd, who is still only 38-years-old, he is best known for his shock run to the final of the 2008 PDC World Darts Championship.

Aged just 21, the English qualifier beat the likes of Terry Jenkins, Peter Manley and Wayne Mardle on a fairytale run at Alexandra Palace.

His hopes of becoming the youngest-ever world champion at the time were dashed by John Part in the final.

Shepherd’s best performance at Ally Pally since saw him reach the third round two years later, but he has not qualified for the event since 2011.

Meanwhile, he stepped away from the sport in 2022 after handing in his PDC Tour card.
