SAN LEANDRO — BART service between the Lake Merritt, Berryessa and Dublin stations was stopped Tuesday morning because of a fire near the San Leandro station, officials said.

BART officials said the stoppage, which impacted the Blue, Green and Orange lines, was a result of a fire under the trackway.
No other details about the fire, including the cause, were immediately available.
Other BART lines, including through the transbay tube, were not impacted.
Commuters were advised to seek alternate forms of transportation. BART officials said Alameda-Contra Costa Transit is providing help for commuters stranded between the Lake Merritt and Fremont stations while the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority is offering to aid travelers between the Milpitas and Berryessa stations.
