The Arizona Cardinals spent on heavily defense this offseason, but there’s still free agent talent that could add to offensive improvements.

Bickley: The Cardinals will be a playoff team in 2025
ESPN’s Matt Bowen listed wide receiver Keenan Allen as the best remaining free agent fit for the Cardinals. He noted that while the six-time Pro Bowler is in the late stage of his career, he could be an option to catch first-down passes from Kyler Murray.
Allen isn’t as dynamic of a mover at this late stage of his career, but the 33-year-old showed with Chicago that he’s still a crafty route runner who can make himself available to the quarterback. In Arizona, Allen could carve out a role as a chain-moving option for Kyler Murray.
Allen is coming off season with the Chicago Bears where he played 15 games and caught 70 passes for 744 yards and seven touchdowns.
Bowen added that Allen could be the third top option for Murray and the offense. The WR3 spot for the Cardinals is a question mark in 2025 following a season where Greg Dortch only played 39% of the snaps on offense.
Trey McBride and Marvin Harrison Jr. are Murray’s top two targets, so Allen would compete with Zay Jones and Michael Wilson for reps. Despite a heel injury keeping him out of two games in 2024, Allen finished with at least 60 receptions for the eighth straight season.
In 12 NFL seasons with the San Diego/Los Angeles Chargers and Bears, Allen has caught 974 passes for 11,274 yards and 66 touchdowns.
How would Keenan Allen look in the Cardinals offense?
Allen led the Bears with seven receiving touchdowns last season and could give Murray another red-zone option.
Allen’s presence could open targets and space for an offense that has not seen a wide receiver register a 1,000 receiving yards in a season since DeAndre Hopkins’ 1,407 yards in 2020.
