Wayne Northrop passed away on November 29th after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Since then, Hank has followed in his father's footsteps and has joined the cast of Days of Our Lives, with his first day on set in January.
Hank echoed the sentiments saying, “Even when he was going through this terrible disease of Alzheimer’s, the one thing he never lost was his sense of humor. That was always there. He’d be shooting finger guns at people and just joking around the whole time up until his very last days. He always had a smile and always was teasing people with his sense of humor.”
The actress reflected on her time on the soap, adding, “To have that kind of longevity and to have people that still care about me and the character, it really means everything. My life has been off and on there all that time, and the folks that watch, they’ve seen pregnancies and crazy trips and adventures and friendships with the other cast members and the continuity and tradition. I think when you have a world that’s off-kilter sometimes, that you have that thread, it means everything.”
General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC at 2 p.m. ET and streams weekdays on Hulu.
