A motorcyclist died Saturday night in a Westminster crash, and alcohol may have been involved, police said.
Westminster officers responded to the crash near Perry Street and West 92nd Avenue, a mile east of the Denver-Boulder Turnpike, at about 7:40 p.m. Saturday, according to a news release from the police department.
A 77-year-old motorcyclist and a 79-year-old driver were headed home when they crashed into each other, police said in the release. The motorcyclist died at the scene of the crash and will be identified by the Adams County Coroner’s Office.
Investigators believe the two knew each other and had been at an event together earlier that night.
“The cause is still under investigation, but preliminary information indicates alcohol may have been a factor in the crash,” officials stated in the release. “No charges have been filed at this time.”
