A CLASSIC Dodge has been pulled from a barn after some 40 years locked away – and it’s in surprisingly good condition.

The iconic US muscle car, currently available on eBay, is being sold in its original, unrestored condition and is almost completely rust-free, except for a small spot.

Better yet, the model is the highly desirable Charger SE – which sold over 61,908 units during its heyday, with the hardtop securing the runner-up spot with 45,414 cars.

The Charger SE in these photos landed on eBay as a certified barn find – having originally been parked up in 1985.

Curiously, it boasts a highly sought after sunroof – believed to have been installed on approximately 2,500 Chargers thanks to a change that simplified the production process.

According to Auto Evolution, Dodge had a deal with American Sunroof Corporation to supply a sunroof kit that could be installed during the production process – reducing the costs of getting a sunroof on a new Charger.

It meant previous model years were each sent to the company for sunroof installation, increasing the production times and the final costs.

Today, Chargers fitted with sunroofs are now considered rarer before the 1973 model year – and were more common once the change was introduced.

This example, powered by a 440ci engine, is up and running after the eBay seller was able to install several new parts under the hood.

While it’s not road-worthy, its overall condition and the 55,000 miles on the clock, makes it a worthy restoration piece.

The current owner – who’s based in China Valley, Arizona – has set a $7,500 starting bid, with a reserve also in place – which means their selling expectations are much higher.

This comes as a little-known classic Ford with a very rare feature was recently pulled from a junkyard – with a surprise hiding underneath.

The short-lived, produced from 1960 to 1961, had been sitting by the side of the road for decades under full exposure to the elements until it was discovered.

The short-lived Starliner, a hardtop model that was part of Ford‘s Galaxie Special Series, was produced from 1960 to 1961.

This example had been sitting by the side of the road on an Indian reservation in Grandview, Washington, for decades under full exposure to the elements until it was discovered.

According to YouTube‘s FullSizeFord – who decided to purchase the Starliner after a brief chat with the caretaker – the original owner of the car had passed away and the locals were planning to scrap it.

After some 30 years off the road – according to its 1995 title – it shows severe weathering, although the hardtop is still in one piece.

Elsewhere, a woman who bought a car because of its three enviable features has been left disappointed after they vanished before she got the keys.

Emily Howell is calling for justice after she got her $1,000 truck and noticed the glaring change.

Five steps for restoring a car

Restoring a car can be a massive undertaking. Here's a simpler way to think about the process as a whole:

Plan This includes setting a budget, preparing a work area, researching parts, and establishing a timeline to get the work done. Strip the vehicle This involves disassembling the vehicle and assessing the condition of the parts being removed. Bodywork This means stripping the paint and repairing any rust and dents, followed by repainting. Engine restoration This involves restoring a car’s power – including engine repairs. Rebuild After reassembling and detailing the car, all that’s left is to take it for a test drive.
