Northridge’s girls golf team will look to enjoy some prime home cooking next week as a reward for one of the top seasons in the program’s recent history.
The Grizzlies will compete on their home course, Boomerang Links, during the Class 3A state championships Monday and Tuesday. Northridge won’t be the only local participant in attendance, either.
Northridge’s team of senior Emmarie Miles, junior Grace Gerbers, junior Jade Hepler and junior Madison Nation will compete in the state tournament after placing second as a team in its regional.
Severance will also bring a full team after winning its regional. The Silver Knights will field a team of senior Sophie Morgan, senior Katelyn Johnson, senior Reagan Mendoza and sophomore Jaycee Runner. Roosevelt will bring a sole representative: senior Grace Sterkel.
There will also be some local representation in the 4A state tournament Monday and Tuesday at the Broadlands Golf Course in Broomfield. Windsor will field a full team with senior Macy Kleve, senior Abbie Winterbottom, junior Ruth Stephens and sophomore McKenna Hersh. The Wizards were third at regionals. Though Windsor didn’t qualify for state as a team, each of its four golfers qualified, individually.
Resurrection Christian has a full team in the 2A state tournament Monday and Tuesday at the Pueblo Country Club. Junior Karina Garcia, junior Avery Stockslager, senior Brooke May and sophomore Brooklyn Diepersloot will compete at state after the Cougars placed second in regionals and qualified for state as a team.
