NBA fans’ joy at seeing Michael Jordan back on their screens has turned to fury following a shock revelation.
It was announced last week that the basketball icon had joined NBC as a contributor for the upcoming NBA season.

But their delight has turned to anger following the news that Jordan WON’T be a regular on the NBA on NBC show.
It was reported earlier this week that the American sporting icon is “unlikely” to be a regular fixture during the 2025 season.
And CNBC have since claimed Jordan is set to “appear in TAPED SEGMENTS during the season to provide analysis that will air during pregame shows or halftime shows.”
The prospect of Jordan giving live takes is still, however, a possibility as his role is said to be “nebulous”.
Nevertheless, basketball fans weren’t happy with the news of Jordan’s pre-taped segments.
One wrote on X: “They don’t dare give him a live microphone.”
Another said: “Wack!”

NBC’s landing of Jordan, who is regarded by many to be the greatest basketball player of all time, in any capacity is a major coup.
The six-time NBA champion has shunned multiple media roles since his third and final retirement in 2003 and seldom does any interviews.
