POLICE REPORTS
The following were compiled from reports prepared by the Ukiah Police Department. To anonymously report crime information, call 707-463-6205.
DISTURBANCE AT LIBRARY: Caller at the Ukiah Library on North Main Street reported a disturbance there at 11:45 a.m. May 10. An officer responded and reported that the person left the area upon request.
CAMPING IN PARKING LOT: Caller at Jack-In-The-Box on Airport Park Boulevard reported at 9:14 p.m. May 10 that people were camping in the parking lot. An officer responded and reported that the people were moving along upon request.
ATTEMPTED VEHICLE THEFT: Caller on Ranee Lane reported at 7:57 a.m. May 11 that a vehicle theft had been attempted. An officer responded and took a report.
THEFT: Caller in the 1300 block of Beacon Way reported at 1:36 p.m. May 11 that a vehicle had been vandalized and items taken. An officer took a case report.
LOUD MUSIC: Caller in the 700 block of El Rio Street reported loud music being played at 9:45 p.m. May 11. An officer responded and reported that those responsible were “counseled and will be turning it down.”
BARKING DOG: Caller at the corner of West Stephenson and South Bush streets reported at 9:50 p.m. May 11 that a dog was barking in the area. An officer responded and reported that the area was “quiet upon arrival/quiet upon departure.”
RECKLESS DRIVER: Caller at Walmart on Airport Park Boulevard reported at 7 a.m. May 12 that a reckless driver was now parked. An officer responded and reported that the person was “contacted and advised” regarding reckless driving, and that they had not been driving under the influence.
TRESPASSING: Caller at a business in the 1200 block of North State Street reported at 7:42 a.m. May 12 that an unwanted person was there. An officer responded and arrested a 41-year-old Ukiah man for trespassing and resisting. He was booked into county jail.
CAMPING: Caller in the 1200 block of Airport Park Boulevard reported at 8:31 a.m. May 12 that someone was camping in a white van. An officer responded and reported that the person was “contacted and advised to leave.”
CAMPING: Caller reported at 10:34 a.m. May 12 that someone was camping on the Great Redwood Trail near Talmage Road. An officer responded and reported that the person was “contacted and advised.”
CAMPING: An officer contacted a person behaving suspiciously in the 900 block of South State Street at 11:57 a.m. May 12 and cited and released a 47-year-old Ukiah man for violating city codes regarding camping.
LEGS IN TRAFFIC: Caller at the corner of Talmage Road and Airport Park Boulevard reported at 4:23 p.m. May 12 that a man was sitting on the center divide with his “legs in traffic.” An officer responded and reported that the person was “contacted and advised.”
DRUG POSSESSION: An officer performing security checks in the 100 block of Talmage Road at 10:24 p.m. May 12 arrested a 68-year-old Ukiah man for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. He was booked into county jail.
The following were compiled from reports prepared by the UPD regarding calls handled by the Fort Bragg Police Department.
PROTEST: Caller at the corner of North Main and East Laurel streets requested at 11:14 a.m. May 10 to speak to an officer regarding a protest in the area. Information was provided.
BOTTLE THROWN INTO BUSHES: Caller on Noyo Point Road reported at 10:55 a.m. May 11 that someone on a scooter threw a beer bottle into the bushes. An officer checked the area and reported that the person was gone.
Those arrested by law enforcement officers are innocent until proven guilty. People reported as having been arrested may contact the Daily Journal once their case has been concluded so the results can be reported. Those who feel the information is in error should contact the appropriate agency. In the case of those arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of an intoxicant, all DUI cases reported by law enforcement agencies are reported by the newspaper. The Daily Journal makes no exceptions.
