12-year-old darts prodigy Jayden Walker has laid out his career goals and he’ll be a rival of Luke Littler if they come to fruition.

Walker has already made a name for himself in the sport, with many fans dubbing him the ‘next Littler’.

Walker caught the eye at the Modus Super Series’ pairs tournament back in December.

He clinched the title alongside YouTuber Angry Ginge by beating Fallon Sherrock and YouTuber JaackMaate in the final.

It came after the youngster had beaten world number one Luke Humphries 2-1 in an exhibition match.

However, Walker has revealed his darting rise began two years ago as a 10-year-old.

Speaking to talkSPORT at the Modus Influencer Showdown, he explained: “It hit off when I first started playing Super League when I was ten.

“I won my first game and ever since it’s just gone up and up and up really. Then I won a game at Super League with an 82 average and that got me into the county team.

“I couldn’t win the first couple of games, then after that I won a game and ever since I’ve just kept on winning.”

His success on the oche has even caught the attention of his classmates at school.

Walker added: “Everyone comes up to me at school, saying, ‘Oh it’s Jayden Walker, are you the kid that plays darts?’”

Asked whether the attention is getting boring, he admitted: “No, no, I still like it but the same people multiple times a day sometimes does.”

Playing at Modus events has allowed Walker to play alongside a selection of former professionals and social media influencers.

The darts prodigy continued: “When I was younger I used to watch them all but now I barely have any time to do anything. I try to get in as much time as I can to do as much as I can outside of darts.”

Despite his young age, Walker already has an end goal for his career in mind.

Discussing what he wants to achieve in the sport, he said: “It’s got to be to win the World Championship. That’s what every darts player wants to do.

“I’d be happy just to be on the professional circuit really, do the (PDC) Tour and then whatever I win is a bonus.”

A triumph at Alexandra Palace would emulate Littler’s glory in London back in January.

Then aged 17, ‘The Nuke’ became the youngest world champion in darts history by beating Michael van Gerwen in the final.

Walker, however, would have the chance to scoop a staggering £1million in prize money if he repeats the feat in the future.

The PDC announced in March they would be doubling the winner’s pot as part of an increased £5m prize fund.

It comes alongside an expanded field of players, which will rise from 96 to 128 from the next edition of the tournament in December.
