The 1% Club doesn’t test players on their general knowledge like other shows.

Instead, it tests them on their logic, reasoning skills and common sense.

One hundred players are whittled down, question by question, as they are tasked with solving different riddles.

They aim to get to the last round where only one per cent of the public could answer the final question correctly.

Host Lee – who was recently slammed by fans after a personal comment to a player on-air – told the contestants: “Right 80 per cent of the public can answer this question.

“What vegetable can you insert here to make a fruit?”

The image of the word was five letters long and ended in CH.

He then joked: “Please do not try to insert a vegetable at home, our contestants are trained professionals.”

At the end of the thirty seconds Lee revealed that three people had been knocked out of the round.

He then explained the answer was Pea – which would make the word Peach.

Lee then went on to speak to Chloe, a contestant that had been knocked out and asked what she’d put.

“Veg, I Just couldn’t think of anything,” she replied.

The comic looked dumbfounded and pipped back: ” Veg? That would have been a hell of a clue.”

The comedian then laughed when Chloe revealed she was an English student and said: “English! The irony.”
