Nationwide £100 bonus 2025: Key date announcement and who is eligible ...Middle East

News by : (inews) -

The world’s largest building society has offered payouts to certain qualifying members for the past two years.

This year, the high-street banking giant has said it will make a key announcement on their plans later in May.

After the purchase of Virginmoney, it had already given a £50 one-off payment to 12 million of its customers earlier this year as part of the “Big Nationwide Thank You.”

As a building society, Nationwide is made up of members, and this membership means receiving a share of any annual profits.

It was launched in 2023, and in June last year, four million Nationwide eligible members received a £100 Fairer Share payment after the building society recorded a pre-tax profit of £1,776 million.

When will the 2025 bonus be confirmed?

This year, members will know by the end of the month if they are receiving another Fairer Share payment and, if so, how much.

A spokesperson for Nationwide told The i Paper: “Nationwide’s Board will decide on a Fairer Share payment for 2025, and it will depend on our financial performance.

What do I need to do to get the bonus?

Not all customers or members of the building society will automatically be in line for the £100 windfall.

These have not so far been announced for 2025, but last year, eligibility was dependent on having one of the following product combinations:

A qualifying current account and a qualifying savings account A qualifying current account and a qualifying mortgage

A qualifying current account must be one of the following:

FlexPlus FlexOne, FlexStudent, FlexGraduate FlexAccount, FlexDirect, Flexbasic

Qualifying savings required account holders to have had at least £100 in total in one or more personal savings accounts or cash ISAs with Nationwide at the end of any day in March of the year in question.

If there was more than one account holder, each holder was a member of Nationwide, and so the terms and conditions applied to each individually.

For eligible people, the payment has been made in mid to late June in the past two years.

Recipients will not need to do anything as long as they have an open current account with Nationwide; the money will be transferred directly to the account. The payment will be made there for those with a joint current account.
