UFC middleweight Bruno Silva appeared to suffer a dent in his skull during a brutal defeat to Marc-Andre Barriault on Saturday night.
The Brazilian star was knocked out in the first round of their bout in Quebec, Canada, on the UFC 315 prelims after absorbing several heavy elbows against the cage.

After lying on the canvas for several minutes, Silva was placed on a stretcher and rushed to hospital to undergo further assessments.
Thankfully, the 35-year-old is in a stable condition and issued a positive health update from his hospital bed.
“I went to the hospital and had tests, everything is fine with my health,” Silva wrote on Instagram in Portuguese.
“I received a lot of messages from people who really like me, it was fine.
“I wanted to win to give my testimony, from everything I went through and managed to stand up, but it’s worth living.
“I am a victor. This is not the moment that will end my story and my legacy.”
Both men entered the fight in desperate need of a win.
Barriault was riding a three-fight skid while Silva had lost his last four.
The victory came as a massive relief for Barriault, but it was received with mixed emotions due to Silva’s condition.

“Now I realise what I did, but I have been working so hard for this moment.
“I’m always improving, I’m always working on being a better version of myself as a human and a fighter also.
“So I think I proved tonight that I still belong here and I want to stay here…
“I still have goosebumps. “[But then] I realised he was still on the ground after a couple of minutes.
“Then I felt like something was wrong.”
