MEGHAN Markle has appointed Bill Gates’ ex-assistant as her chief of staff after her and Prince Harry’s last pick quit within three months.

Sarah Fosmo, 45, has been appointed as Meghan’s most senior adviser as she makes another attempt to relaunch her career.

Ms Fosmo will oversee a “dynamic period of growth” for Meghan as she rolls out her Netflix lifestyle series With Love, Meghan, her As Ever product line and her podcast Confessions of a Female Founder.

It comes as the Duke of Sussex’s last, high-flying pick for his chief of staff, Josh Kettler failed to outlast his three-month trial period.

Veteran PR supremo Kettler had reportedly been brought in to “guide Harry through his next phase” but left his role just days before their “tour” to Colombia last year.

The staff member stepped down after three months in the role in what Team Sussex insisted was a “mutual decision.”

It marked a long string of resignations under Harry and Meghan’s employ, with at least 18 staff members leaving since their marriage in 2018.

Harry has now hired a new adviser Lianne Cashin who was previously the executive assistant to his former chief of staff Kettler.

Ms Fosmo, an experienced administrator, previously spent six years at Gates Ventures, the Microsoft billionaire’s private office, and seven years before that with US self-help guru Tony Robbins.

She described herself as skilled in “managing high-stakes operations for ultra-high net worth individuals”, reports the Telegraph.

She also said she is “adept at navigating high-pressure environments, while maintaining a warm, approachable presence and representing principals with poise and professionalism”.

And Ms Fosmo once described Bill Gates and Oprah Winfrey as two of her “favourite people”.

A source told the outlet: “Sarah and Lianne exemplify the strength and vision driving the Duke and Duchess forward.”

Cashin – who once worked for Olympic snowboarder Shaun White and is thought to be linked to Harry’s polo team Los Padres – has been with Archewell since its early days.

She’s now believed to be steering the Duke’s post-royal work, including his charity and media efforts.

A source close to the couple told the Telegraph: “Sarah, our proud senior hire as chief of staff for the Duchess of Sussex, brings a wealth of experience perfectly suited to guide the Sussexes’ ambitious ventures.

“Her expertise and steady leadership are critical to navigating this dynamic period of growth.”

They added that Cashin had become “a valued consultant” and offered “deep operational insight for key projects”.

Cashin is also said to have been closely involved in setting up Harry’s recent BBC interview, where he lashed out at the UK establishment after losing a legal battle over taxpayer-funded security.

She’s now expected to help steady the fallout from issues linked to the Duke’s African charity, Sentebale, and African Parks – where Harry sits on the board – after the latter admitted to multiple human rights breaches by its rangers.

Mr Kettler joins a long list of staff who have left the Sussexes in the lurch.

Prince Harry’s charity chief Dominic Reid quit his role as chief executive of the Invictus Games Foundation in July last year.

Meanwhile, Bennett Levine, their manager of Archewell Productions, left earlier in 2024.

And, the Oscar-nominated producer Ben Browning, quit as head of internal content at the company in January the year before.

Sussex staff resignations

AN astonishing 18 members of staff have quit working for them in just a few years — nine since they moved to Montecito, California.

In late 2018, Meghan’s personal assistant Melissa Toubati quit.

It also emerged senior communications secretary Katrina McKeever left the Press team the same month.

Not long after, private secretary Samantha Cohen resigned.

In January 2019 Meghan’s female bodyguard of six months, who has never been named for security reasons, also quit.

By March, senior communications secretary Jason Knauf jumped ship and went to work for Prince William and Kate’s Royal Foundation.

Meghan also went through three nannies in just six weeks after baby son Archie was born in May 2019.

Harry and Meghan’s PR chief Sarah Latham left the couple after they quit the UK in 2020.

Meghan parted ways with talent agent Nick Collins, of The Gersh Agency, who was with her since she was a struggling actress.

And her close friend Keleigh Thomas-Morgan, a partner at Hollywood PR firm Sunshine Sachs, split from Meghan after the couple moved to the US.

The Sussexes recruited Toya Holness, former communications chief for New York City Department of Education, but she lasted 18 months and left shortly after the Invictus Games in 2022.

Just a year after their Megxit dash, Catherine St-Laurent was ousted as chief executive of their charitable foundation Archewell.

Meanwhile, Mandana Dayani, who was made president of Archewell, stepped down after less than 18 months in her role.

Oscar-nominated film producer Ben Browning was named head of content at Archewell in March 2021. The foundation was supposed to be producing documentaries and podcasts.

But podcast Archetypes was dropped by Spotify and he left in January 2023.

Two months earlier, Rebecca Sanares left her role as head of audio at Archewell.
