Eubank Jr finally touched gloves with Benn in a monumental clash, which saw him pick up a points victory.
Eubank Jr refused to shake hands with BennThe pair left it all on the line in a brutal war, and there was a respectful placing down of the guns at the end of the fight.
Eubank Jr’s father and Nigel Benn embraced at the final bell, but the bitter foes didn’t shake hands at the conclusion of the contest.
And he has since clarified he felt he didn’t need too, despite being respectful of his efforts in the squared circle.
He said in an exclusive sit down interview with talkSPORT: “I respect him for what he did, how he fought, the mindset he had in that ring.
“That I do respect because a lot of fighters don’t go to those depths. They shy away from burying your soul in that ring. He didn’t do that, he never gave up.
“So in that respect, I respect him. But we also have to remember that he did get caught with performance-enhancing drugs in his system.
“He has never owned up to that, he has never apologised for that.
“In that sense, I will never respect him, and I can’t break bread with him, and I can’t shake his hand because there are kids that are looking at this fight and the whole situation with the drugs.
“Me shaking his hands and congratulating him on a great fight that sends the wrong message to the kids.
“Oh, what? You can just cheat and then come back into the ring after a year or two, and everything is ok?
