Tamil Nadu batting coach Tanveer Jabbar has claimed that Sai Sudharsan has enough international exposure to be in the Indian side for the upcoming Test series against England. His remarks come as India are on the hunt for a new opener following Rohit Sharma’s abrupt decision to retire from Tests. Sudharsan’s call-up to the Test side has been long awaited and could perhaps get an opportunity soon.

Speaking to The Indian Express, the TN batting coach explained that Sai had played with the best players in the IPL while also had the experience of playing against world-class international stars. He pointed out that being a left-handed gave an added advantage to him, adding that his ability to play with a soft hand could come of good use in England.
“He has got enough exposure to bowlers of international quality. He has travelled abroad and rubbed shoulders with the best in the IPL. Being a left-hander is an added advantage because the bowlers will have to change their angles every now and then. His soft bottom hand will also come very handy in England,” concluded Jabbar.
Jabbar, however, flagged one concern regarding Sai Sudharsan. He claimed that the batter was too quick between the wickets and always wanted to get off stirke.
“The only challenge I see is his running between the wickets. He is too quick for the other batters and always looks to get off strike,” he added.
Sudharsan has improved consistently over the years. He also has the experience of playing in England, having taken part in County Championships earlier.
