French police deployed tear gas on unruly fans following Paris Saint-Germain’s opening goal against Arsenal.

Footage of the ugly scenes was posted on X and showed masses of people outside the Parc des Princes surrounding a bus.

The crowd quickly dispersed after French riot police arrived, with missiles thrown in their direction.

In a separate clip, tear gas grenades can be seen on the same road.

French reporter Luc Auffret, who posted the video, claimed the ‘situation deteriorated’ after Fabian Ruiz’s goal in the 27th minute.

Police were once again called into action following the full-time whistle as PSG fans took to the streets to celebrate their 3-1 win on aggregate over Arsenal to seal a spot in the Champions League final against Inter Milan on May 31.

One officer fired a warning shot into the air before they charged in the direction of the supporters to break up the scene.

There was an increased security presence in the French capital for the contest, with 2,000 police officers on duty.

They were called into action before the match had even kicked off, as videos showed riot police pushing fans back as they looked to break up large crowds.

Vision of the clashes between French police and PSG fans came after travelling Arsenal supporters were instructed to be ‘vigilant’ in the capital.

The Gunners advised their fans to steer clear of the Auteuil suburb of Paris, which is where PSG’s Ultras congregated before the contest.

“Supporters are strongly advised to avoid the Auteuil suburb of Paris and should take note of this when travelling to the Parc des Princes on matchday,” a club statement read.

“Street crime, including pickpocketing, can take place in Paris.

“Supporters are advised to be vigilant, take sensible precautions and ensure they have valid travel insurance.

“Supporters are strongly advised not to use line ten on the metro system which would result in supporters exiting the metro system in Auteuil.”

Arsenal’s warning for their fans came nearly a month after Aston Villa fans were instructed by club legend Gabby Agbonlahor to be ‘streetwise’ in Paris.

Footage emerged of two sets of fans clashing in the street prior to the first leg of Villa’s Champions League quarter-final against PSG.

Punches were thrown between the two groups outside of a bar as several objects, including chairs, were tossed in the air.

“I think fans have to be careful tonight,” Agbonlahor said.
