University 14, Weld Central 5, in Keenesburg: University rolled to a 10th consecutive win, improving to 18-3 overall, 8-1 in Class 4A/3A/2A Patriot League play. The Bulldogs led 7-5 through five innings before slamming the door with seven runs in the top of the sixth. Junior Gage Viken led University, hitting 2 for 3 with three RBI, a run and a home run. His senior teammate, Will Korby, went 2 for 4 with three runs, two RBI and a double. Junior Pierce Thoene led Weld Central, hitting 2 for 3 with two RBI, two doubles and a run. With the win, the Bulldogs clinched at least a share of the league title. The Rebels fell to 7-14, 0-9.
Highland 7, Yuma 5, 8 inn., in Yuma: Highland came up with a clutch win in an extra inning to extend its win streak to five games. The game was tied at 2 through four innings. The Huskies scored three runs in the top of the fifth, and Yuma answered with two runs. Trailing 5-4, the Outlaws sent the game into an extra inning with a run in the bottom of the seventh. Highland wasted no time climbing back ahead, this time for good, scoring two runs in the top of the eighth. Junior Stetson Hendren led the Huskies, hitting 1 for 3 with two RBI, a home run and two runs. Senior Sawyer Morgan hit 2 for 4 with a double and a run. Senior John Bingley pitched 6 2/3 innings for Highland, allowing three earned runs on four hits, striking out 13 and walking four. The Huskies improved to 16-5-1 overall, 7-2 in 2A Lower Platte League play. With this win, Highland clinched the league title. Yuma (12-6, 6-2) is second in the league.

No. 14 Vail Mountain 11, No. 19 Windsor 10, in Vail: Windsor dropped a heartbreaker in the first round of the 4A state tournament, ending its season with an 8-8 record. The Wizards were playing from behind throughout the match, trailing 2-0 after one quarter, 6-3 after two and 10-7 after three. Windsor outscored Vail Mountain 3-1 in the fourth quarter but fell just short of completing the comeback.
