Bayern Munich legend Bastian Schweinsteiger said Harry Kane must win a Champions League to be considered a club great.
The German club have won six European titles – the last of which came in 2020 as part of their sextuple that year.

Despite Kane’s jubilation most Bayern fans are used to winning the league, having once won 11 consecutive Bundesliga’s before 2023/24’s failures. What they actually crave is a Champions League win.
But Bayern crashed out of the competition in the quarter-finals at the hands of Inter Milan, who now await either PSG or Arsenal in the final.
Yes, Bayern have failed to gain their seventh European crown but Kane has continued to impress with 36 goals this campaign.
In an interview with talkSPORT’s Ben Jacobs, when asked to rank Kane in a list of Bayern strikers Schweinsteiger said: “It’s difficult to rank him because in Munich you always had great strikers, like for example, it started with Gerd Müller and then other great strikers followed up and they all won the big trophy.
“So I wish Harry can maybe next year experience that trophy with Munich, that would be fantastic.
“Obviously he scores goals, very important goals, and he has a great impact also on the team and on the spirit.
“But in Munich obviously they judge you when you lift that trophy or at least be in the final, that’s also very important.”
One striker Bayern have lifted the Champions League with is Robert Lewandowski who scored 344 goals for the club.

It was a bitter blow for Bayern to be knocked out of the Champions League, especially as the final is being played at their Allianz Arena.
“It was a big dream to be part of the Champions League final in Munich,” the former midfielder said. “Unfortunately, they couldn’t manage it.
“I think the first game in Munich, the second goal from Inter Milan, was decided at the end of the day, but they still have the Bundesliga.
“That’s important to win after Leverkusen last year won the Bundesliga. I think they’re not 100 per cent happy with this season, but they won the Bundesliga. That’s important.”
Not winning the league as a Bayern player and manager is near unforgivable as shown by Thomas Tuchel who agreed to end their working relationship in 2024.

The last time Bayern lifted the DFB Pokal was in 2020 under manager Hansi Flick.
Since then Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig and Bayer Leverkusen have all lifted the cup.
