Before the big night, Roker shared his transformation for the evening in another Instagram post shared by the TODAY show. He opened the door wearing a casual green t-shirt and shorts before the video transitioned and he showed off his jacquard tuxedo jacket paired with the black top hat.
The 2025 Met Gala theme honors the new exhibit "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style" at New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art.
According to Vogue, the theme "Draws inspiration from Monica L. Miller’s 2009 book, Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity, the exhibit will feature garments, paintings, photographs, and more—all exploring the indelible style of Black men in the context of dandyism, from the 18th-century through present day."
