Their road to qualification became even tougher after their game against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) got washed out due to rain. The 55th game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 took place at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Monday (5th May).
Asked to bat, Delhi Capitals (DC) had a forgettable start to their innings as Karun Nair got out on the first ball, and it opened the floodgates. Sunrisers Hyderabad bowlers, in particular Pat Cummins, were all over the opposition as he picked three wickets in a powerplay that left Delhi tottering at 29 for five.
However, after that, Tristan Stubbs (41) and Ashutosh Sharma (41) brought their team back into the game with their 66-run stand. They soaked in all the pressure, and their partnership powered Delhi Capitals to 133 for seven. For Sunrisers Hyderabad, Pat Cummins bagged three wickets.

After the washout against SRH, they got one point, and they are now placed 5th on the points table with 13 points to their name from 11 games. The Axar Patel-led side has won 6 games and now needs to up their ante.
If they win just one game out of their three games, then they will be at 15 points. They will still have a chance to qualify, but it will all depend on the NRR and the results of other games.
