Ty Evans has not had the 2025 season he planned for, but the senior outfielder is coming up big for Florida at the right time.
After starting 49 games last season, Evans has been limited to just 27 appearances in 2025. Last week, Evans played in the series finale against Arkansas, his first appearance since April 8 against Florida State. He seems to have found his power in his time away from the action.
Against Arkansas, Evans hit his first home run of the season. Late Friday night, Evans made it back-to-back games with a homer. In the top of the 5th inning, Evans hit a grand slam to put the Gators up 8-4 at South Carolina.

It was 4-3 in South Carolina’s favor entering the top of the 5th inning. A Luke Heyman solo home run made it a 4-4 game. The next 3 batters reached, and Evans launched the ball 426 feet to make it a 5-run inning and 8-4 ballgame.
UF turned to Jake Clemente for a 9-out save. Clemente entered in the 7th inning, inheriting 1 runner with Florida up 8-5. Clemente tossed 3 scoreless innings, allowing 4 hits while striking out 6 and walking just 1.
