THE world’s oldest person, Brazilian nun Inah Canabarro Lucas, has died at the age of 116.
The Congregation of Teresian Sisters of Brazil confirmed her passing on Wednesday.

Born June 8, 1908, Canabarro became the world’s oldest person in January after the death of 116-year-old Japanese woman Tomiko Itooka.
According to LongeviQuest, which specialises in ranking human longevity, Canabarro had been a frail child, and “many doubted she would survive.”
Despite this, she joined the sisterhood in 1934 at age 26, between the two World Wars.
