Ajinkya Rahane sustained a hand injury during the 12th over at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Tuesday, April 29. He attempted to stop a drive from Faf du Plessis. Rahane walked off the field, and Sunil Narine took over as captain for the remainder of the match. Narine led the Knight Riders to a 14-run victory.

Rahane said that Sunil Narine's performance in the final two overs was a turning point in their victory. The KKR skipper stated they were about 15 runs short. He added that they required key wickets, which was exactly what Narine delivered in the end.
Delhi Capitals appeared to be in a winning position at 136/3 by the 14th over. However, Sunil Narine took key wickets of Axar Patel (43 off 23) and Tristan Stubbs (1) in a single over. He later removed Faf du Plessis (62 off 45) and finished with figures of 3/29 in four overs.
