Four teams hailing from different countries make up the Champions League semi-finals and Wednesday’s last-four rumble between Barcelona and Inter Milan sees a contrast in styles.
Barcelona, having come past Borussia Dortmund 5-3 on aggregate in their quarter-final clash, are the leading scorers in the competition with 37 goals across their 12 games, whereas a stubborn Inter have conceded just five times during their 12 European fixtures.
The Serie A side upset German giants Bayern Munich in the previous round, recording a 4-3 aggregate success, and will be hoping to repeat the dose against Barca in what is their first meeting since 2022.
The opening leg of this semi-final showdown comes from Barcelona’s temporary home, the Estadi Olympic Lluís Companys, on Wednesday (kick-off 8pm), with the return leg taking place at the San Siro on Tuesday, May 6.

A trip to Barcelona is the last thing that Inter need following three straight defeats and they will be relying on a defence which has been extremely steely in the Champions League to frustrate the Catalan giants.
Inter have failed to score in any of those last three losses, suffering back-to-back 1-0 reverses to Bologna and Roma which has seen them relinquish their lead at the top of Serie A, and they must be fearing the worst against the competition’s most explosive outfit.

While a low-scoring encounter is predicted, it is unlikely to end goalless and, in a game of fine margins, Raphinha could prove the difference in the likely absence of Lewandowski.
The Brazilian is having the season of his life and is second to only Borussia Dortmund’s Serhou Guirassy in the Champions League scoring charts, having netted 12 times in as many appearances.
Having also contributed with seven assists in Europe, the former Leeds man is proving as important as anyone to Barcelona’s Champions League hopes and seven of his 12 goal-tally have come in home matches.
Denzel Dumfries to be shown a card @ 18/5
Denzel Dumfries returned from injury after a month out with just under half an hour playing time in Sunday’s 1-0 loss at home to Roma and he could be added to the starting line-up against Barcelona.
The Dutch full-back loves to get forward but his defensive duties are sure to be tested by Raphinha and he looks a likely card candidate.
Dumfries has committed 17 fouls across his nine Champions League appearances this term and that has contributed to two yellow cards, taking his total tally to eight bookings across all competitions.
