The fan-favorite album is one of two re-recordings yet to be released, along with Swift's self-titled debut album, and in a new interview with Much Music uploaded to TikTok, the Australian country star has revealed his surprising first impression of the record.
“Just checking,” he said cheekily as they affirmed that it was, joking about how he would have tossed it away if it wasn’t. “She’ll never talk to me otherwise,” he quipped.
However, the two weren't necessarily on the same page when reputation first came out. "I remember hearing [it for the first time], and I was like, ‘Ohhhh, I’m not sure about this record,’" he admitted. "...I’m a fan, right, and I’m like, 'mmmm, mmm, yeah, it’s not it for me.'"
"So, sometimes, she’s just way ahead of the curve,” he concluded.

Some might think Urban's initial opinion would have set Swift's fans off, but they were much more interested in his thoughts of present day.
"'I hope this is Taylor's version' YOU ARE A FEATURE ON THIS ALBUM??" someone else wrote in shock, while another commented, "It’s funny that he didn’t even mention that he’s featured on that album. Just started talking about how amazing rep is?."
Some made the connection between his praise and her lyrics in "this is me trying."
Others couldn't help but to clown about the possibility of Urban's comment serving as an Easter egg on behalf of Swift, with one wondering if it meant, "Reputation tv soon?!?" and we have to ask... Keith, what do you know?!
