“My wife is so happy there,” the Runaway Bride star, 75, told Page Sixon Tuesday, April 22, at New York City's City Harvest Annual Gala, referring to wife Alejandra Silva, whom he wed in 2018.
Silva's "family is there, her culture is there, [our] youngest kids are growing up there, their Spanish is perfect,” the actor told the outlet on Tuesday. In addition to their youngest two sons, Gere and Silva each have two boys of their own — the Pretty Woman actor shares 25-year-old son Homer with ex Carey Lowell; Silva is mom to 11-year-old son Albert.
Gere's rare tidbit about the couple's sons comes just days after Silva told the Daily Mail — also at the City Harvest Annual Gala — that the family ultimately has plans to move back to the United States.
She, too, revealed some rare insight into their youngest sons' lives during the interview.
Gere's son, Homer, is excited to see his father, stepmom and two youngest brothers ultimately come back to America.
As for why Gere and Silva opted to move to Spain, "For Alejandra, it will be wonderful to be closer to her family, her lifelong friends and her culture," the Unfaithful star told Vanity Fair Spain in November 2024, per People, adding: "She was very generous in giving me six years living in my world, so it is only fair that I give her at least another six living in hers."
