Eddie Hearn has suggested Jake Paul will face Gervonta Davis in November if he beats Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul has been linked with a host of big names since beating Mike Tyson.
Paul and Davis could meet later in the yearThis includes boxing superstar Davis, whom he was in negotiations to face but the clash was derailed with the champion ordered to face Lamont Roach.
Paul recently announced he will first face Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, a former world champion and rival of Canelo Alvarez on June 28.
But incredibly Matchroom Boxing promoter Hearn appears to have slipped up and revealed Paul vs Davis is scheduled in next.
He said at the Chris Eubank vs Conor Benn press conference: “Paul vs. Chavez Jr is not a terrible fight.
“We know that Gervonta [Davis] is going to fight Jake Paul in November. Then, we’ll see what happens.
“It’ll be interesting to go from Gervonta Davis to Anthony Joshua. I don’t think the Chavez fight is terrible.
“I think it’s a smart bit of business. Hopefully, Chavez can get himself up for it.
“He don’t have too long, he’s been through a lot.”
It would be a huge commercial blockbuster if Paul has sealed a showdown with Davis.
‘Tank’, an original protege of Floyd Mayweather, is one of boxing’s biggest names and a supreme talent.
Hearn has claimed November is the sealed dateGettyDavis will need to first beat Roach, against whom he took a controversial draw in March.
Their bout is set to be delayed until July or August, a move which could further halt a clash with Paul.
The ‘Problem Child’ himself needs to beat Chavez Jr, an uphill challenge against a boxer who does carry natural pedigree.
Victory would likely be his biggest in the sport so far, and push his profile further to try and earn big name fights.
And his business partner Nakisa Bidarian believes Paul is alongside Davis as one of US boxing’s biggest stars.
He said: “Gervonta Davis, other than Jake Paul, is the only American pay-per-view box office star.
Paul fought Tyson and beat him last NovemberGetty“And, Gervonta has called Jake a clown multiple times and said he could beat him with one hand tied behind his back.
“So, not like the guys are massive fans of each other, but they also have respect and understand that the two of them are the standalone kind of massive fighters from the US.
“Jake didn’t have a signed contract to fight anyone but I think part of being there was seeing what Tank was able to do.
“Tank is a ferocious puncher, right? He’s viewed as the modern Mike Tyson.
“So in some ways that story arc would have been perfect, but it just wasn’t on the horizon at that point.”
